And we kicked off the program where everyone had 30 minutes of one-on-one time. In a group setting, they had one-on-one time with me. Telling me everything about where they’re at right now and so on.

I want to share the approach that I took with those people this week. Because, I think that if you do this in your business, this is how you experience the biggest, most significant progress and breakthroughs, week after week, which will build your online business fast.

One of the biggest battles that we face, as we start and grow our online business, is the feeling – or sometimes the actual reality – of having a lot of things to do.

But for a lot of people, it is more a ‘feeling’ than a reality… There are a million and one things to do, right? Because you can become what a mentor of mine used to call, A busy fool.

Meaning that it feels like there are a gazillion things to work on. But very few of those things are actually going to make an impact on your income.

And so, here’s what I said to these people this week… We spent probably about 20 to 30 minutes going over where they’re at right now…

What they’re currently doing, what they’re stuck with, what their strategy is, what ideas they have, what their method of content creation is (if they’re going to pursue a method of content creation). What their desired platform for paid advertising is… As pretty much most, if not all of these people are doing paid traffic, even if starting with a small budget.

So after we went through those things, I spent 10 minutes… And pretty much the question I asked of myself, in order to respond to this and give them this information, was…

What Are The Key One Or Two Things…

“What is the number one…” Or “What are the key one or two things that they could do over the next seven days, which would lead to the biggest progress, breakthrough, impact and income in their business?” (Not, “What’s everything that needs doing?”)

And I was able to then say, “Right, here are your action steps for this week that you need to do.” And I didn’t give anyone a million things, or ten things, or even five things to do.

They all had one or two main things that they needed to get done this week.

Whether that was… Creating a case study of their results. Completing and getting their website live. Writing a new ad for Facebook. Recording a new video for Facebook. Completing their email sequence to plug into their autoresponder.

Whatever those one or two things were – that’s what I said to get done. And that’s what I want to say to you, right? Because there’s a high probability that you may be experiencing the same feeling – that there are a million and one things to do.

And believe me, it is easy to find things to do, right? You’ve probably experienced that for yourself. It is always easy to make yourself busy. Always, right? For any of us.

When’s the right time to consider virtual assistant outsourcing? And how about the question of what to outsource to a virtual assistant? Outsourcing to a virtual assistant is a critical step to grow your online business, especially if you’re just a business of one person. Here’s some pretty useful insight and guidance on the subject…

“Hey, good morning my friend. As you can see this is a very different setting. Why? Well I’m actually in my house. This is one of our spare rooms here.

I want to actually address a specific topic today. A lot of times on The Drive, I’m kind of just talking about what it is we’re up to and various things like that, which I will always keep doing.

But today, I want to actually answer a specific thing. And there’s a few topics that I really want to address. So probably over the next few Drives, I’m actually going to address specific topics.

The first of these topics though – let me just address one specific one here… When do you know it’s right to start outsourcing things? And how do you do it? What should you outsource?

So really, we’re going to talk about outsourcing for a few minutes. Y’know, when you’re building an online business, and in life in general, you only really have two main sort of ‘commodities’ (or whatever you want to call them) that you can put in.

One is time, and the other is money. And the way I think about money in the business is…

Money Allows Me To Buy Back Time

That’s kind of how I view it. It’s like you’ve got – imagine if you’ve got two coupons. You’ve got ‘time coupons’, and you’ve got ‘money coupons’. And you’ve got to spend them, like, they’re both being spent.

Say every day, you’ve got one-hour blocks. So you’ve got 24 ‘one-hour block’ coupons in a day of your time. And then money – however much money you have – to put into your business.

Every hour that goes by, you’re spending a time coupon. And they don’t come back – they are very limited, right? And you have money coupons that you can put into your business as well.

Now obviously, that money has to be allocated to everything that you do in your online business. So, for example, you’re going to need money for website hosting, you’re going to need money for an autoresponder, you’re probably going to need money – as soon as possible – for paid advertising.

And of course the other thing to consider – which is what we’re talking about here – is how do you buy back some time?

Because the LAST thing that you want to do, especially long-term, is to build a business that does not allow you to be away from running the business.

So you have to be able to buy back those time coupons. And you use money coupons to buy back the time – and therefore, you free up your time, okay? So now you can do with it what you want. Does that make sense?

Because we all have 24 hours in a day. And so when you are able, you want to…

Start Looking At Virtual Assistant Outsourcing

But what to outsource to a virtual assistant? Now on a basic level, when you are just a business of one, some of the things you want to outsource would be the tasks that really are not profit producing tasks, not income generating activities. And you want to try and replace yourself from those.

So for example, let me give you a rough bit of guidance as to the sort of things that I did outsource early on… Sort of like, ‘virtual assistant’ type tasks – checking emails, responding to emails possibly, posting blog posts, uploading your videos or podcasts if you do those.

Y’know, anything that’s not directly contributing towards income and sales coming into your business – you want to ultimately be looking to start virtual assistant outsourcing as soon as you can. Especially those kind of administrative types of tasks, okay?

The way in which you go about this is – do a full list. Grab a trusty, old-school traditional pen and paper, and write down like every single thing that you do on a day-to-day basis to operate your online business.

Everybody’s going to be doing different stuff – so it’s kind of a ‘general’ process. Write every single thing down that you, until you’ve exhausted this whole list.

And then as time goes on – each day, keep checking on, “Am I doing something that’s not on my list?” Then add it to the list, and keep adding until you’ve got this exhaustive list.

We all have the same number of hours every day as each other. But most of us are busy with many responsibilities in our lives. So how do you find time to work on your business? Here’s some insight on how manage your time and get your priorities straight…

“Hey, good morning everybody. Dean here, of course. But not on the way to Internet Profits headquarters this morning. As you might tell if you watch us regularly – you will know that I’m always wearing the same stuff. But not today.

I have a white shirt on because we’ve actually been to a wedding this morning, hence why I’m dressed like this. (I know I said ‘good morning’ but it’s actually early afternoon – I got stuck in a pattern there.) Just on the way back home now, where I’m going to do some work.

Y’know, most of people have a lot of things going on in their day to day lives, right? It’s like, you have a ton of stuff that you’re doing. Maybe you’ve got a part-time or full-time job still. Perhaps you’ve got children or relatives who depend on you.

What Are You Willing To Sacrifice To Find Time To Work On Your Business?

You’ve got all these other things going on, and yet at the same time you’re trying to start and grow your business online. And a lot of people, to be honest, they’re not willing to sacrifice.

I see a lot of people say they want certain things, say they want to live a certain way, say they want to accomplish and achieve certain goals. Yet they’re not sacrificing enough to do it.

Like take today for example. There’s tons of stuff that I could and should be doing in the office for the business, But today, my priorities meant going to this wedding, right? Obviously y’know, family and weddings took priority.

So does that mean that I say, “Well, there’s no point me doing anything today because I’ve lost most of the day.” No. Instead what I’m gonna do is go back and I’m gonna do a bit of work on my laptop at home this afternoon and this evening.

Everyone Should Commit at least 1-2 Hours A Day To Their Online Business

And so, I’m always looking for ways to still get done what I need to get done. There’s some days that you can’t actually do anything, right? But you don’t then say, “Oh well, that’s gone.” Instead you say, “Right, how do I make that time up?”

I fully believe that everybody, no matter what situation you’re in, no matter what’s going on in your day today… Everybody should be committing at least one to two hours a day to starting and growing their online business.

And if you’re not able to commit and find time to work on your business – two hours each and every day… Whether that means some days you can’t do anything, so the next day you do 3, 4, 5 plus hours. Or at the weekends you put in 5, 6, 7, 8 hours. However it is that you make that time up, you have to sacrifice to do it.

Y’know, that means going without your favourite TV show, or telling your friends at the weekend that you’re busy. Sacrificing the thing that ideally you’d like to do. “Good morning my friend, how are you doing? Welcome to today’s Drive. So today… What day is it? Is it Friday? Haha, I have no idea what day it is. I’m just gonna assume it’s Friday. If it’s not Friday, then what the heck.

For me, every day is a good day. Every day is the same, in the sense of – it really doesn’t matter what day this to me. I stopped caring what day it was not too long after I stopped working at the construction company all those years ago.

Every day is a glorious day, every day is my day to own. That’s how I view it. Whether it’s Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday, whatever. That’s how everybody should be living their lives. Doing something they enjoy, so it doesn’t matter what day it is. Whether it’s the weekend or a weekday, be doing something you’re passionate about.

The first time we did this webinar campaign, we only did it with a handful of people. I’m talking less than five. And it generated millions of dollars. Some of those people made anywhere from about fifty thousand dollars, up to six hundred thousand dollars.

So it’s pretty exciting that we took that away, evolved it, consulted with some of the best of the best. Like, Russell Brunson has been helping and advising me on it. And we brought some of the best campaign scripters in, who are about to start working on this stuff.

I mentioned this briefly the other day, that you need to think about each day, and each week… What is ‘the big thing’ that, if I get done today or this week, is going to have the biggest impact in my business?

So for me, I know this webinar that we’ve been focused on heavily this week, is going to make tens of millions of dollars, directly and indirectly. It’s going to be responsible for tens of millions of dollars, over the next 12 months alone! Ten million dollars plus is the goal.

And so, is that one of the biggest, most profitable and impactful things I could do this week? YES!

Whilst a lot of people would be doing things like, you know, “I got stuck this week on a technical glitch, or with my autoresponder.” Or “I’m trying to figure something out with an email.” Or “I was trying to fix my blog.” and so on…

And the whole week’s just gone by, and how did your business move forwards? “It didn’t, but I had to fix this thing.” Did You?? Does fixing it have a massive impact in your business? Does it really?

That’s what you’ve got to look at – how to prioritize tasks in your online business. You have to look at these things. Now I’m not suggesting like, “Oh my things broken. I’m gonna leave it.” No! If it’s going to take you a week, and somebody could be outsourced on upwork.com to do that thing in a day for fifty dollars… What makes sense?

You spend a week trying to figure it out? Or spend fifty bucks? You know what I mean? You’ve gotta weigh these things up

Work With The 80/20 Principle…

80% of your time on the most impactful, profitable, income producing activities. Make sure you’ve got that ratio. 20% – that can go into fixing all the crap, or doing all those other little bits, okay? Make sure that’s the case. That’s how to prioritize tasks in your online business.

I’ve also actually been creating a case study this week of a free traffic generation system for our Certified Partners. A lot of people want to start out – or feel more comfortable starting out – with free traffic, rather than paid traffic.

Of course, we always make the important point that there is no such thing as ‘free’ traffic. But nonetheless, this gets put into the ‘free traffic’ category.

So yeah, we’ve been doing a live case study. Something that has been able to get me customers every day for free, for the last few days since I started it. And we’ve been documenting the process. Something that anybody can do. It’s basically an attraction marketing strategy.

But like I say, I think that is my biggest piece of advice for you today on how to prioritize tasks in your online business. Make sure you’re spending eighty percent – at least eighty percent of your time – on the tasks and the things in your business that have the MOST impact on your income.

“Welcome my friend, how are you doing? Dean here of course, on the way to Internet Profits HQ. It is 7am. Nice bright early start today. Plenty to do.

Wanted to get in there early and get everything done. Today is a crazy, busy day actually. I’ve got to add the finishing touches to a webinar presentation. I have to shoot a video for some VIP coaching clients. I have some livestreams to do.

What Else?…

We’ve got a load of stuff being delivered into the office… We’re setting up… Got some exciting stuff to talk about actually, in terms of going forwards in the next few weeks. We’re having a real change in our video studio, setting it up to be able to livestream and all kinds of awesome stuff. And so I look forward to showing you that in a few weeks probably. So we’ve got the equipment coming for that, new computer desk, various things like that for the live streaming capabilities.

At 9:00 pm this evening, I have a call with Ken. We’re doing a book writing challenge at the moment, and we’ve got someone coaching us with writing a book. So the idea being is that we’re able to write a book – we’ll get the first draft done in 30 days. And then be having it polished up, edited, reviewed and proof read, and all that kind of stuff. So that’s going on today as well.

I’ve also got to drop my car off at the garage today to have its brake pads replaced. By the way, talking of cars, my new Range Rover Sport is is being delivered in the next couple of weeks, which is exciting. I remember years ago I had a vision board in my old office – and I just talking about this, this morning actually. On there was a Range Rover, because I always wanted one. And now I finally get one. So all in all yeah, wow, a lot actually happening today.

When people feel busy… I remember, many years ago, my first mentor – someone who’s helped me profoundly in my business, and a very good friend now, is Alex Jeffreys. And he used to say, like, about being a “busy fool”.

You can be busy doing any number of things. I can find a reason to get busy in this car. For example I could polish it, tidy up, clean all the little bits, take the trash out. And I could tidy it all up and do all these different things, and I feel busy. But it wouldn’t really alter my life, do you know what I mean?

And so you’ve got to look at what you’re doing and how you manage your time wisely. Because I do think a lot of people FEEL busy. But what is it that you’re doing, that’s actually making a difference to your business and to your life? You’ve got to think about, “Am I being a busy fool?” Or, “Am I focused on the right things, and busy with them?”

For me… I know that 80 or 90 percent of the stuff I work on in my day today, is driving the business forwards. I’m working on productive tasks that will drive revenue into the business – that will drive sales, right?

But a lot of people are spending 80 to 90 percent of their time on stuff that won’t impact that kind of result. Y’know, things like… Let me think back to…

Trying to get my logo right. I’m not saying it’s not important but, depending on where you’re at in your business, you shouldn’t be spending weeks and weeks on it right? Do that in the future.

Spending weeks trying to find the perfect WordPress theme for my blog. Again, it’s not impacting my revenue.

Trying to perfect the perfect squeeze page without actually driving any traffic to it. Again not gonna affect anything. I need to get on with driving traffic to it.

So there’s just a few certain areas… Like for me, if I were to really dial down on my day and say, “Right, what is the one thing that, if I did it today, would probably impact revenue the most in my business?”

And it would probably be the webinar thing that I’m working on today, right? Because I know that once I’ve made those tweaks and changes, based on a few tests we’ve done recently with this webinar… And then I record it, then I automate it… That now will work for me every day, every week, every month. You get what I mean?
